Hi. I am an experienced medical coder for 8 years in a local hospital. Throughout the years of my service I gained necessary skills and trainings to ensure my work is accurate and precise. During my first year in this company I worked as a Medical Records Officer, which taught me the importance of proper handling of patient information following strict rules to make sure patient privacy is observed. One of my main role as a Medical Records Officer is to assign accurate codes to paper charts. The following years I was also tasked to oversee our hospital's claims processing department. My main role here is to ensure accurate ICD code is used and that all necessary documents are filled up correctly. Later on, our hospital adopted the use of EMR while gave me more skill on how to navigate and store patient date electronically. I believe that with my background and passion for proper ICD coding I would be great asset to my future employers.
