I've spent most of my career around outreach, link building, and the strange process of figuring out why one website would ever want to link to another.

A lot of people treat link building like a numbers game. I've never really looked at it that way. The part I've always enjoyed is finding the angle that makes a placement make sense in the first place.

Over the years I've worked across finance, gaming, e-commerce, and more recently a Shopee marketplace project.

One of the largest campaigns I worked on helped grow a finance website from DR 40 to DR 75 while organic traffic grew from around 20,000 monthly visitors to nearly 100,000 at its peak. Most of my time there was spent researching prospects, managing outreach, building publisher relationships, and looking for opportunities competitors weren't seeing.

I later worked on a gaming and entertainment project where a lot of the wins came from looking beyond obvious keyword matches. Sometimes the best placement opportunities came from understanding what people were doing, not what they were searching.

More recently, I launched an inspired fragrance store on Shopee Philippines. It was my first marketplace SEO project, which was part of the fun.

In 5 months, monthly visitors grew from 53 to 355, page views reached 2,379, and bounce rate improved from 37.7% to 22.8%.
It taught me that search intent matters just as much inside marketplaces as it does on Google.
