My 1st work experience was I became a customer service representative in a online shopping company USA based, as customer service representative I take calls coming from the customer and troubleshoot if ever they have problems with their items, I also give guides to the customer along with their order. And lastly most of all I always gave to the customer most satisfaction service that need.
After 2 years as a CSR, I transition into logistic work field, where,
I have over 3 years of experience as an carrier freight dispatcher in USA based company, during my days as a truck dispatcher, my task was to find loads in DAT board and once find the load, I negotiated it with the broker with a specific rate, once rate has been settled, then that's the time that I am going to assigned it to our drivers. So I assigned to the drivers, will track them 24/7 and give updates to the customer with the pickup and delivery date. After the load was delivered, I need to inquire the POD from the driver and gave it to the customer.
So during my previous work, I handled shipment also such dryvan, reefer, flatbed, step deck trailers and also overweight loads with the needs of permits that I need to process and gave it to the drivers. Besides handling overweight.
I also handled intermodal and drayage shipment, in this field, I always check with containers either coming from the port or going to port, specially checking with the LFD or last free day of the container. LFD is very important, due to there will be an additional charges either to customer or trucking company if the empty container has not yet returned at the port on the last free day it was out. So as a dispatcher, my vital role is really to provide live updates both side either to the customer or the trucking company.
