The Electrical Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and optimizing electrical systems and components to ensure that they are safe, efficient, and meet performance requirements. This role involves a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles, from power distribution to control systems, and a focus on creating innovative, reliable, and sustainable electrical solutions for complex systems and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
System Design and Engineering: Design and develop electrical systems, including power distribution, control systems, and electrical panels. Ensure designs comply with industry standards and are tailored to the project’s specific requirements.
Power Systems Management: Oversee the implementation and optimization of power distribution systems, including transformers, generators, switchgear, and circuit breakers, ensuring they meet energy requirements while adhering to safety and efficiency standards.
Collaboration and Integration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, civil, and software engineers) to integrate electrical systems with other system components, ensuring overall system functionality and performance.
Testing and Validation: Conduct tests and simulations to verify the performance and reliability of electrical systems. Identify areas for improvement, perform system troubleshooting, and provide solutions to prevent system failures.
Troubleshooting and Fault Diagnosis: Analyze electrical system failures and anomalies. Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to determine root causes and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.
Compliance and Documentation: Ensure that all electrical systems comply with local, national, and international safety standards and regulations (such as IEC, NEMA, UL). Maintain comprehensive documentation of system designs, specifications, test results, and maintenance schedules.
Energy Efficiency and Sustainability: Focus on energy-saving opportunities and work on integrating renewable energy sources or energy-efficient technologies into electrical systems.
Project Management: Manage projects from concept to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and overseeing the procurement of materials and resources. Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and in compliance with specifications.
