Profile Description

I am a registered nurse. I worked at hospitals and clinics after I graduated but the most recent job that I had was in customer service.
I was a precertification nurse for an American insurance company. I spoke with fellow nurses and doctors over the phone and dUpgrade to see actual info whether to approve or deny certain medical procedures for coverage.
After a few months, I was trained to handle behavioral health as well. I spoke with psychologists, social workers and psychologically ill patients to discuss treatment plans, therapies and consultations.
I have experience with behavioral health utilization review management as well. I have worked as a UR specialist for facilities who needed their authorizations handled. I have learned to use Kipu, BestNotes and some other platforms used for UR and patient files.
When I was in high school, my real passion was writing. The first piece that I wrote that actually got published was in sophomore Upgrade to see actual info was a literary piece and the school organ’s editor-in-chief liked it. He trained me to join his team and to join writing competitions representing our school. I got to write feature and news articles for the campus. I was also taught copyreading.
In college, I got accepted as a writer for the university organ. I was only able to write a few articles for them, however, before I had to quit. I didn’t have time for it anymore since BS Nursing demanded much of my attention.
If given the chance, I would like to give writing a try again. I know I may not be as good as I used to be and I may need a bit (or possibly a lot) of polishing here and there, but I’m very willing to learn.
