Profile Description

I am a licensed nurse with 10 strong years of experience with Medical and Dental insurance Billing and Collections.
-Profound knowledge of insurance terms, policies, and Upgrade to see actual info-depth understanding of medical and dental terminologies concerning diagnosis and procedures, ICD-10, CPT and HCPC codes, dental ADA codes, HCFA’s, UBO4, and EOBs.

-Knowledge of insurance guidelines, including HMO/PPO, Medicare, Medicaid.
-Calling health insurance for verification of eligibility, coverage, and authorization requirement. Following HIPPA guidelines.
-Claim submission, fixing rejections, and Denial management (unpaid aging claims)
-AR Follow up
-Reviewing insurance correspondence, including medical records request
-Submitting Appeals
-Checking of claim status and downloading of ERA/EOB from different payer portals/websites.
- Posting of payment and denials
-Experience working with EMR systems (eClinicalWorks and DrChrono)

I was a Medical Billing Team leader guiding a team of six billers with my most recent employer. Since I was the first VA in the company, I trained and mentored newly hired billers to fulfill various roles.
