Outline of the tasks that I have worked for Journal:
-Takes on the initial checklist task. I am the one checking every incoming submission for completeness of files, author information and journal specific requirements before assigning them to the Editor;
-Chase up reviewers/editors for action when papers have stalled in peer review;
-Takes on the accepted paper checklist task. I am checking every accepted manuscript to ensure that the Production team have what they need before I transfer it to the Production department;
-Provides assistance which authors, reviewers, and editors can write to if they encounter basic issues with system operation.
Common queries could be included (but are not limited to):
Authors:
-Manuscript status updates;
-Manuscript submission issues;-Revision deadline extension requests;-Username & password requests; -User details updates.
Reviewers:
-Reviewer report submission issues
-Review deadline extension requests
-Proof of review requests for use in academic CV
-Username & password requests
-User detail updates.
Editors/Guest Editors:
-Process system tasks on your behalf on request (e.g. invite a reviewer or make a decision)
-Assist with basic system operation (“How do I…”)
-Special Issue set-up request
-Add users to the system;-Update user permissions
-Username & password requests
-User detail updates
Aside from doing the given job descriptions, I've finished the SPi Bronze Training program, about leadership. The course or program is one of the requirements to become a team leader.
