As a carrier sales representative in a freight company based in the US, some of my main responsibilities are to generate leads, attract new prospects, and develop a sales pipeline. Maintaining my current knowledge of market trends in the transportation marketplace which greatly helps on my negotiation skills. It is also very important that I know how to identify and select reputable and safe carriers for freight services. Then book orders with carriers, assist them with any concerns, and track the status from time to time to ensure that there are no issues or there will be no issues. Collaborating with shippers, carriers and dispatchers to manage scheduled collections and drop-offs and keeping accurate records of relevant activities.
