Logistics Representative
Surviving the pandemic made me realize how stable this industry is. Whatever happens, people need food and supplies, and products have to move. Every profession is crucial, but these times made me appreciate and respect our drivers more. Our department ensures the visibility of all shipments from pick up to delivery. As the carrier's point of contact, we rectify issues by coordinating with other departments, pick-up and delivery facilities, and customers. The trucking industry is fast-paced and is a great representation of the saying time is money.

I used to feel self-pity growing up when we were moving homes every few years. I was always the new kid, and it was a challenge to keep friends. This industry taught me that it's not too bad to rent homes; it doesn't mean we're impoverished and can't afford to buy a house. It's great that we didn't have to pay for maintenance, and we can always choose where we want to live with a greener pasture and sometimes, just better weather. I'd like to think I'm well-traveled. lol This job made me listen and identify underlying needs, and truly care about our clients. We had to make sure our homes are safe places to be, and band-aid fixes make worse problems over time. It's important to be patient with our tenants' rants and pay close attention to details while always choosing to empathize. You have to remember that they expect you to execute and be the expert when they reach out for help, and you're in the landlords' frontline.
