1. Administrative Support: Manage day-to-day administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling meetings, managing attorney calendars, and maintaining the filing system.
2. Client Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing them with updates, scheduling appointments, and ensuring they receive timely responses to inquiries.
3. Document Preparation: Assist in the preparation and filing of legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines. Prepare correspondence and legal documents under attorney supervision.
4. Case File Management: Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all relevant information is accurately documented and easily accessible.
5. Billing and Timekeeping: Assist with tracking billable hours and processing client billing in accordance with firm policies.
6. Case Management: Take the lead in organizing and managing case files, ensuring all relevant information is accessible and up-to-date. Coordinate with all parties involved in a case, including clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
7. Case Coordination: Oversee the management of cases from inception through settlement or trial. Ensure all case activities are progressing in a timely and efficient manner.
8. Client Management: Maintain regular contact with clients, providing updates on case status, answering questions, and addressing concerns. Build and maintain strong client relationships based on trust and clear communication.
9. Medical and Insurance Coordination: Liaise with medical providers to obtain medical records and reports. Communicate with insurance companies to ensure that claims are properly managed. Coordinate with clients regarding their medical treatment and recovery progress.
10. Documentation and Record Keeping: Manage and organize case files, ensuring all relevant information is accurately documented and easily accessible. Monitor and update case management software with the latest case developments.
11. Team Collaboration: Work closely with attorneys and legal staff to develop case strategies and prepare for litigation. Assist in the preparation of legal documents and evidence for trial.
12. Client Advocacy: Advocate on behalf of clients, ensuring their rights are protected and they receive the compensation they deserve.
13. Document Preparation and Review: Draft, review, and file legal documents, including complaints, discovery requests, motion papers, and settlement agreements. Ensure all documents comply with court requirements and deadlines.
14. Legal Research: Conduct comprehensive legal research related to cases, staying informed of new legal precedents and changes in law that may impact ongoing and future cases.
15. Trial Preparation: Assist attorneys in preparing for trial, including organizing exhibits, preparing trial notebooks, and coordinating witness testimony.
