Profile Description

I have more than 7 years of experience in Accounting and Finance in multinational companies (specializing in pharmaceutical and food industries)
During my stints at those companies, my functions involved the posting of journal entries, performing plausibility checks of other colleagues' journal entries and changes to the asset register, closing the books of the company for the period, and the thorough investigation and formulation of solutions to any issues with the financial statements. I coordinated with the different accounting processes (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, etc.) in order to create solutions with cross-process implications which are necessary to ensure that the financial statements conform to the International Accounting Standards (IAS) as well as local regulations.
My deep knowledge with regards to the Asset Accounting module made me the foremost AA expert in the local branch of the company and because of this, my additional responsibilities included the solving of key issues, training of fellow colleagues, and collaborating with AA experts across the world to tackle relevant cross-border issues.
In addition, my tasks in a separate company involved the preparation of the annual budget and the monthly LE (latest estimate) production cost. I also perform the analysis of the drivers causing variances in the costing and operational efficiency after the period’s closing activities.
Furthermore, I have an excellent grasp of Excel and other MS Office applications. Besides using Pivot Tables, Vlookup, and the other basic functions, I have experience in using Macros (Excel VBA) to expedite and optimize tasks. The excel macros I created were widely used by my colleagues to improve the efficiency of their work.
I possess an extensive knowledge in SAP and I am also Xero certified.
Last but not least, I’m also a fast learner and a critical thinker which enables me to quickly adapt to new situations and new roles.
