Job Summary:
To lead part of regional portfolio Credit Risk management, partner with the key business stakeholders in Elsevier and drives to work collaboratively with Sales, Customer/Account Support, Operations and Finance to minimize the aging of the sales ledger for the region, maximize the global cash conversion ratio/cash flow and maximize revenue whilst minimizing the risk to Elsevier.
Accountabilities:
Relationship Management
This starts with internal stakeholders by building strong and effective relationships between the CR&R team, with the Sales and Customer/Account Support teams - educating them on the need for risk management in the context of the Elsevier business and achieving the right balance between making a sale and collecting the cash. Work closely with the Customer Service teams to ensure that improvement made (either driven by CS or CR&R) are optimum for Elsevier as a whole.
Maintain an extensive internal (eg with Sales Support & Sales Managers) and external network in the Credit Control community via Credit Associations, contract negotiations (eg with S&P) etc
Debtor Management
Own the debtors ledger for their portfolio within the region. Ensure that sound risk advice is given by the team and ensure the advice, based on accurate assessments, is followed, taking into account both internal & external factors and objectives. Drive profitability by maintaining and enhancing Elseviers historical write off level of 0.1%. Support RH in ensuring that the GCP is adhered to. Ensure the standard payment terms detailed in the GCP are in line with the business model and appropriately reflects the risk represented by individual Countries/Regions.
