Profile Description

I graduated Bachelor of Science in Accounting Technology and am a member of the National Institute of Accounting Technicians here in the Philippines. I was also able to pass the Level 3 - Taxation and Payroll examination for the same institution with High Distinction. I would want to finish all 3 levels to attain the remaining licenses (Certified Bookkeeper, Registered Cost Accountant, and Certified Accounting Technician). My accounting study is a great foundation for my current VA niche because I am able to study accounting incorporated with computer software/modern technology. I was also given an opportunity to train with QuickBooks, SAP, and AppFolio but without any certifications. I self-study XERO, Buildium, and Rent Manager. I am also efficient with Excel and the rest of Microsoft software.
For my Accounting experience, I was able to do on-the-job training as a Purchasing staff in a private hospital in my province. I work mostly with their Accounts payables and inventory checking. After I graduate, I was hired as an accounting staff with a merchandising company working with the concession department. I am in charge solely of the inventory checking per company. I also process receivables with some company and audits inventory over receivables.
After working as a customer service representative, which helps me with my communications skills, typing skills (also with Numpad), time management, and multi-tasking, I found a third-party company that helps me get my 1st client working as an Accounting VA in a real estate company. I am currently working as an Accounting Specialist for a real estate company, managing single-family and multi-family properties. I work more on the Accounts payables, paying vendors and making sure they are paid in a timely manner. I am also the only accounting staff so I also cater to property owners' and renters' accounting concerns.To ensure accuracy and attention to detail when handling financial data or conducting bookkeeping tasks, I always double checks everything before finalizing. When handling numbers, I often make use of computer intelligence since they often provide more accuracy than the human eye. My favorite buddy is Excel. Excel is a game changer, especially in dealing with numbers. For data entry and computations, this will be my go-to. But for transactions on every accounting software, it depends on the software itself. I am currently working with AppFolio, a property software. Each invoices have a different invoice number that is included in checks or billing. I make sure to check previous billings to lessen double entries and recheck the amount and details of the invoice before, during, and after billing them. Good thing, most accounting software has an edit option to edit the details after every transaction. And also, being aware of the fact that I used to be careless with things, I make sure to often check my tasks and transactions before anything else.
