As soon as I graduated and got my diploma in Bachelor of Arts in Communication, I was immediately hired as a Marketing Officer in one of the biggest House and Lot Developer in the Philippines, Camella Homes. I have been with the company for a period of six months and within that time being, I was able to enhance all the skills and knowledge that I acquired and learned during my college years. As a person who studied mass communication and journalism for almost 8 years (4 years in high school, 4 years in college) I have been thought a lot about marketing, advertising, and content writing. 
My employment with Camella Homes honed my skills in social media advertising and content writing since one of my tasks was to post contents online daily that will promote the company's product and grab the attention of possible clients scrolling through their feeds. That includes captioning photos, making my own content, and editing to create appealing visuals. Another skill that was sharpen during my employment with Camella Homes was my ability to market and sell the product through my good communication skills. Most of our clients were American Citizens/English Speaking Citizens and I was able to communicate my thoughts well and thoroughly and explain and answer the queries that my clients have in the English Language. Being in the Philippines, English is not our first language and being able to communicate well using the English Language is a great skill and advantage for me.
After my employment in Camella Homes, I started looking for better opportunities and luckily, I was hired in one of the biggest shopping malls in the Philippines, Ayala Malls. Over the course of one year, I have discovered skills and talents that I never thought I had by working as a Marketing Associate in the above-mentioned shopping mall. My main task was to look for clients and market all available spaces in the mall for them to occupy. Looking for clients or new leads means constantly visiting and travelling to other places or malls around the Philippines to meet and discover unique businesses. Upon getting their contact details, the real work begins. This means continuously communicating with these clients/business owners until I close the deal. And to close a deal, a good marketing and advertising skill is a must. Without good marketing, public relation, and rapport, closing deals with them were a tough task. I have closed several deals with different clients from different places in the Philippines within my employment with Ayala Malls.
I was also tasked to organize revenue generating events in the mall which also needed a lot of marketing and advertising skills to catch the audience’s attention. An event will need a high foot traffic in order for it to be considered a successful event.
For two years being a Marketing Specialist, I have developed and improved my customer service skills since I have been constantly talking and communicating with different types of people. I can consider myself that I can be fit to do virtual assistance related jobs. Assisting clients with their queries and needs, helping them understand something they have a hard time understanding, and the like.
Apart from all these skills that I acquired and developed being a Marketing Specialist for the past two years, I am also very computer literate and can do jobs that require typing, transcribing, and captioning, encoding, editing/copy-reading, writing and others.
With all these skills that I have, I am confident that I can be an asset to your team and hiring me as your employee, I will greatly contribute a lot to the success of your company.
