Profile Description

As an experienced Medical Records Assistant at a Personal Injury Law firm for nearly four years, I have been integral in gathering and managing Medical and Billing Records for client cases. Additionally, I served as a Legal Assistant to a Litigation Officer. My responsibilities included:

- Requesting and obtaining medical records from healthcare providers, hospitals, and other medical facilities involved in client cases.- Organizing and maintaining a comprehensive database of medical records, ensuring easy accessibility for legal professionals.- Reviewing medical records to identify relevant information related to cases, such as injuries, treatments, and pre-existing conditions.- Ensuring strict confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA) when handling sensitive medical information.- Providing attorneys with necessary medical records and information for case preparation and trial, ensuring ease of access and utilization.- Coordinating with healthcare providers and agencies to ensure timely retrieval of records and information.- Staying updated with changes in healthcare regulations and laws related to medical records.- Managing requests for billing and invoices related to the retrieval and handling of medical records, when applicable.- Proficient in using third-party services specialized in medical records retrieval, such as ChartSwap, ChartSquad, and CIOX Health.- Assisting with client intake processes, including gathering initial information and setting up client profiles.- Obtaining appropriate claim forms from health insurance providers and ensuring all relevant medical records and bills are attached to the claim form, as needed.- Maintaining thorough records of all communications, claim submissions, and responses from health insurance providers for documentation and potential legal purposes.- Familiarity with Legal Software such as Filevine and Clio.- Proficient in Adobe and PDF Pro.- Experience with VoIP Apps such as Nextiva, GoTo App, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Ring Central, and Google Voice.
