I have been working for about 4 years now. At first, it was odd jobs like sales person at a vape shop which is a glorified term for
"bantay" or "tindero" while I was still finishing college. After a year or so, I applied and was accepted as a barista at a growing milk tea chain in the Philippines where every night was a full house and at weekends the lines would always pile up until the parking lot outside. As a barista, I also agreed to be an all-around employee meaning that I didn't just man the bar but I also cleaned, checked inventory every night, and manned the cash register. As I was nearing graduation, I was required to have an OJT (On the Job Training) or have an Internship at a company that best suited my degree which is Bachelor of Science in Business Administration majoring in Marketing Management. I had my Internship at an up and coming Furniture Manufacturing Company where I worked as a Sales Coordinator. As a Sales Coordinator, my job was to create leads and convert them into prospects which would soon be turned in to a sale. As someone who would do the ground work for a sale and also be the closer, I had an ample amount experience in office work like Copy Typing, making presentations, Data Entry, Sales Calls, and a lot more grunt work. As a closer, I was in charge of negotiating deals and monitoring the orders per sale that was under production since the company had a strict made-to-order policy. I was also working on a marketing paper about the company which had an internal perspective and strategies on how to increase sales while efficiently cutting costs without compromising quality. A few months after graduating college, I decided to expand my horizons and develop my Sales skills even further by venturing in to a new company which would online platforms. Since the start of my working years, I have always been in situations where I would talk to and convert prospects in to sales. These experiences has helped me develop my social skills especially when handling difficult customers / prospects.
