The Role

The VP of Finance is a key leadership position responsible for providing strategic financial guidance and overseeing the financial operations of an organization. Their primary role is to ensure the company's financial health, stability, and profitability. Here is a precise job description for a VP of Finance:

Responsibilities:

Financial Strategy and Planning:
Develop and execute the company's financial strategies and plans aligned with its overall objectives.
Conduct financial analysis and forecasting to support decision-making and drive growth opportunities.
Evaluate investment opportunities and potential acquisitions to maximize shareholder value.
Financial Management:
Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting.
Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and optimize financial resources.
Implement effective financial controls, risk management practices, and compliance measures.
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, statements, and analysis for internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
Coordinate financial audits and maintain strong relationships with auditors and regulatory bodies.
Team Leadership and Development:
Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance, support, and fostering a high-performance Upgrade to see actual infovelop and monitor departmental goals, objectives, and performance metrics.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial processes and operational efficiency.
Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate closely with executive leadership, providing financial insights and recommendations.

Core Competencies and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
Financial planning and analysis
Leadership role in finance and accounting in a consumer products company
Experiencing building detailed financial forecasts
Experience building power point presentations, (i.e. CIMs, Teaser, LP Investment Decks)
Experience analyzing data and making strategic recommendations to management using that data
Experience negotiating contracts with vendors
Experience negotiating terms with banks for loans
Experience preparing reports to a board of directors
Experience working with auditors
