Trinity Church in Chicago: Upgrade to see actual info is seeking a part-time Virtual Researcher & Writer for long-term employment. The role will involve researching biographical or notable true stories, contemporary and historical, to be included in church sermons, as well as creating keyword descriptions, preparing other elements of sermon notes, as well as other writing related tasks.

This role will mostly involve crafting stories to effectively capture and communicate important sermon themes. Candidates must enjoy finding stories, love reading about people’s lives, understand the art of storytelling, and care about authenticity and accuracy. The candidate must be able to work by themselves, display strong collaboration, and consistently meet deadlines.

Part-time means a twenty (20) hour work week at $4.50 USD per hour. Hours worked are generally flexible, but the candidate must be *available* on weekdays between 4am-5am or 5am-6am local Philippine Standard Time (PHT) for one weekly/bi-weekly Zoom call (Daylight savings in the USA causes these times to shift twice a year).

One Zoom call will typically happen weekly/bi-weekly on Tuesdays at 4pm Central Standard Time, but the candidate should have some *availability* on all weekdays at those hours in case additional meetings are necessary. Additional hours are possible and weekend availability may be necessary in rare circumstances. Ideally the role will become a full-time position in the future.

The candidate must demonstrate good character and suitable skills to match the responsibilities. Candidates must have a strong work ethic and a commitment to the success of our organization. Depending on the candidates strengths, the role may evolve. The Virtual Researcher & Writer reports directly to the Team Manager.

Working for a church can be a powerful and unique opportunity to use your God-given talents to bless and reach others. What can be more important and more rewarding than helping people find their ultimate purpose in God? The city of Chicago is in desperate need of spiritual awakening and transformation. Help make the world a better place; help people grow spiritually; help many find faith in Christ.

Training will be provided.

***QUESTIONS & TASKS***

Please answer all questions and complete all tasks as part of your application. You may use ChatGPT to generate ideas, but not to generate written answers; you must write the answers yourself. An analysis will be conducted to determine if ChatGPT (or any AI) was used.

1. Name five well-known heroes of the faith who personally inspire you and why (not people from the Bible).
2. Read Mark 7:1-13. Conduct research to find a true story (about a real historical or contemporary person) that could be used to reflect a main point/lesson of the passage, a story that can work as a parallel/metaphor, not a fable. DO NOT use ChatGPT to write this. Write 400 words as an introduction to the story that ends by creating a climax/cliffhanger/mystery, add a break, and then write 200 additional words to conclude/resolve the story in a satisfying way which connects to a main point in the scripture passage. (Here is a story that starts at the beginning of the sermon, but concludes at the end, and relates to the scripture passage, use this as an example of what you should provide: Upgrade to see actual info)
3. In your answer to question seven below, please add three asterisks at the end of your final sentence, after the period, with no spaces.
4. Find a relevant quote from a notable person that could be used in a sermon based on Mark 7:1-13. (Do not use a quote from the Bible)
5. How much favor do you experience in your life? Briefly explain.
6. Provide a screenshot of your download AND upload internet speed using speedtest.net.
7. Do you receive notifications of planned power cuts?
8. Are you a United States citizen?
9. Attach/link a one minute video recording of yourself explaining why you want this position.

***ASSESSMENTS***

Please take these three assessments (they don’t take long) and provide the results as screenshots, PDFs, or something similar. Do not provide links to your results page as these will not work. If you have taken these exact tests before, just provide your prior results. If you have taken similar tests (but not exactly the same), you will need to still take these:

1. The Big Five: Upgrade to see actual info
2. Strengthsfinder 2.0: Upgrade to see actual info
3. DISC: Upgrade to see actual info
