Role Description:
- The COBOL Developer would have at least 8 Years of experience in programming, testing and analysis related duties related to legacy technologies.
- The COBOL Developer will perform development activity within planned duration and meet established deadlines.
- The position assists in clear documentation and problem resolutions of Product Development, Analysis and Testing
Responsibilities:
· Hands-on development and produce quality work efficiently.
· Ability to lead and collaborate with COBOL teams to ensure product support and new development.
· Ensure loading COBOL systems on test and production environment(s) and setup if necessary.
· Able to reproduce critical issues related to development and fix them.
· Application Development and assistance for internal and external users.
· Converting backlog items to software tasks based on the architecture.
· Testing and Change control deployments.
· Self-disciplined, strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
· Good team player and self-starter.
· Excellent communication.
Essential Job Functions:
· Product support
· Contributes feedback and input to implement best design practices.
· Contributes to the development of business and functional requirements to ensure stakeholder understanding.
· Adhere to reporting standards setup by upper management.
Required Skills:
· COBOL – Advanced
· Microfocus Tools (Acubench / AcuGT / XDBC)
Education: Bachelors in Computer Science, MIS or related field of study. Masters a plus.
Additional Skills:
· SQL & PL/SQL
· XML
· Delphi knowledge is a plus
· Source Control (TFS, git, CVS) or other.
· Experience in developing products related to loan portfolio management, accounting and financial solutions.
