Job Description:
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Intermediate Accountant to join their dynamic team. This position primarily involves back-office responsibilities with minimal client interaction initially, though this may evolve over time. The ideal candidate will possess excellent service skills, a commitment to adding value for clients, and the ability to cultivate strong relationships within the team.

Responsibilities:
Client Service Excellence: Provide exceptional service to both teaUpgrade to see actual infombers and clients, ensuring all inquiries and requests are handled promptly and professionally.
Value-Adding Solutions: Identify opportunities to add value for clients by delivering insightful financial advice and solutions tailored to their specific needs and goals.
Team Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with teaUpgrade to see actual infombers to promote collaboration and knowledge-sharing, contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.
Xero Setup and Support: Set up clients on Xero accounting software and provide ongoing support and assistance to ensure smooth operations and efficient workflow.
Compliance and Reporting: Prepare and file GST returns, FBT returns, and payroll accurately and within deadlines, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Financial Statements and Taxation Returns: Compile annual financial statements and taxation returns in compliance with regulatory requirements, providing clients with comprehensive and accurate financial reporting.
Business Analysis: Conduct analysis of accounting information to offer strategic insights for improving client businesses, assisting them in making informed decisions to enhance profitability and efficiency.
Colleague Support: Assist colleagues with their accounting queries and provide guidance and training as needed, contributing to the professional development and success of the team.
Instruction Execution: Execute all instructions provided by the employer with precision and attention to detail, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in New Zealand accounting or a related field, with demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, taxation, and client service.
Software Proficiency: Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Xero, with the ability to navigate and utilize its features effectively.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to effectively communicate complex financial information to clients and colleagues.
Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently when necessary, demonstrating a collaborative and supportive attitude.
Trust Experience: Experience dealing with trusts is highly desirable, with a comprehensive understanding of trust accounting principles and practices.
