Medical Billing Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of medical billing processes, insurance claims, and healthcare regulations in the United States. As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the financial well-being of our practice and the satisfaction of our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

-Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage to facilitate proper claim submissions
-Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure complete and compliant medical documentation
-Address coding and documentation discrepancies and provide necessary feedback to providers
-Generate and send patient invoices for services, co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances
-Process payments, post them accurately to patient accounts, and reconcile discrepancies
-Proactively communicate with patients regarding outstanding balances and establish payment arrangements when needed
-Maintain up-to-date patient insurance information and make necessary updates.
-Communicate with insurance companies to resolve issues, appeals, and denials
-Monitor and diligently follow up on unpaid or denied claims
-Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and identify trends, concerns, and areas for improvement
-Submit appeals for denied claims and actively follow up on unpaid accounts
-Provide exceptional customer service to patients by addressing billing and insurance inquiries, concerns, and disputes
-Maintain effective communication with patients and their families while resolving billing issues
