Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Landscape Estimator/Purchaser. The ideal candidate will have experience in the landscaping industry, be proficient in reading plans, estimate project costs accurately, and ensure timely procurement of materials to meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities

Reading Plans: Review and interpret landscaping plans to understand project requirements and specifications.
Estimating: Utilize expertise to accurately estimate project costs including labor, materials, and equipment required for completion.
Issue Identification: Proactively identify discrepancies or potential issues in plans and estimates, providing solutions to mitigate risks and ensure project success.
Approval Process: Present estimates to the supervisor or relevant authority for approval before finalizing and submitting them to the client.
Purchasing: Source and procure materials and equipment necessary for landscaping projects, ensuring quality and timely delivery. This includes:
Researching suppliers and obtaining quotes for materials and equipment.
Negotiating prices and terms with vendors to secure the best deals while maintaining quality standards.
Generating purchase orders and tracking orders through to delivery.
Collaborating with the project team to ensure that materials are ordered in accordance with project timelines and specifications.
Monitoring inventory levels and replenishing stock as needed to avoid delays in project execution.
Order Management: Maintain accurate records of orders, track deliveries, and manage inventory to prevent overordering or underordering of materials.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
Proven experience in landscaping estimating and purchasing roles, with a strong understanding of industry practices and standards.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting landscaping plans and blueprints.
Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail for accurate estimation.
Strong problem-solving abilities with the capability to identify and resolve issues proactively.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with teaUpgrade to see actual infombers, clients, and suppliers.
Ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
Proficiency in relevant software applications such as landscaping design software, Microsoft Excel, and procurement systems.
