JOB OVERVIEW

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Accountants are responsible for completion of all accounting assignments within client engagements, such as the preparation of financial, management, and tax accounting reports for clients.

This role relies on the individual understanding accounting principles in depth, not just using software tools without understanding the principles .

Continual development of technical and soft skills through both formal and on-the-job training
Completion of high-quality work on-time and within budget

TASKS

Prepare BAS, IAS and SGC lodgements
Bank reconciliations (bookkeeping)
Prepare TPAR, Workers Comp, Long Service Levy
Prepare individual tax returns (ITRs)
Prepare FBT
Assistance with STP
Assist senior accountants and client managers with accounting tasks
Prepare budget templates, monthly management reports
Preparation of annual financial statements for small businesses and entities in simple structures
Preparation of interim financial statements and basic advisory reports for small businesses

REQUIREMENTS

Must have public practice experience
Must be knowledgeable in using Xero accounting software
At least 2 years relevant work experience
Should be able to provide own invoice for payroll
