(JAPANESE - ENGLISH) TRANSLATOR

FanYou Ph is hiring:

JAPANESE TO ENGLISH TRANSLATOR

MUST-HAVE SKILLS:
- Native or with a strong grasp of English grammar, idioms, and vocabulary, (NON-NEGOTIABLE)
- Have reached Japanese- N3 language certification (Japanese language skills need not be fluent but rather be used for work only)
- Deep understanding of Japanese cultural nuances. Strong familiarity with the local cultural habits,
- Experience of studying abroad for foreign language study is highly preferred,
- Professional experience in general localization/translation from Japanese to the English language and with COPYWRITING skills- a plus,
- Preferably, a game enthusiast with long player experience in various genres of online mobile or PC games, and a good understanding of the operation mode of the local player community; and
- Proven experience in game localization/translation or with love and a good knowledge of the gaming and game development industry- a crucial advantage

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Translation and adaptation of in-game text, dialogues, instructions, subtitles, menus, and user interface elements
- Managing the local player community in Upgrade to see actual info, telegram, etc.,
- Independently complete game translation from Japanese to English,

Work Location: Cebu IT Park, Cebu City, Philippines
Working style: ONSITE work set-up ONLY
Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM
