About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Government Contracting Assistant to support our dynamic team in identifying and pursuing government contracts. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for opportunity, strong research skills, and the ability to build relationships with key government contacts. This role involves leveraging both free and paid resources to identify potential government contracts and assess our ability to successfully bid and win these opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Opportunity Identification:

Utilize government websites (Upgrade to see actual info, GSA eBuy, eGos apfs, USDA forecasting tool) and paid resources (GovWin, Bgov, Highergov) to identify government-released opportunities.
Examine expiring contracts for potential recompetes.
Evaluate opportunities based on our business capabilities and past performance.
Assess qualification criteria for competition types, including Small Business or specific set-asides.
Download and analyze Opportunity Forecasts from different agencies.
Focus on opportunities under set-aside categories, if applicable.
Record identified opportunities in our CRM system.

Market Research:

Identify government agencies with high demand for our products/services.
Gather information on government entities aligning with our expertise.
Investigate incumbents, contract values, and data influencing decision-making.
Monitor government budgets and spending plans for potential project alignment.
Relationship Building:

Initiate communication with Contracting Officers and POCs via email.
Seek meetings to discuss our offerings and potential contributions.
Follow up with Contracting Officers to gain program insights and express bidding interest.
RFI/RFP Submission:

Align our past performance and capabilities with RFI requirements.
Assist in formatting and consolidating non-technical RFP responses.

Qualifications

Strong research and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Familiarity with CRM systems.
