As a Front Desk Receptionist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of healthcare facilities by managing both administrative and patient care responsibilities. Your primary focus will be on accurately processing medical bills, claims, and invoices while also providing exceptional patient care and support.

Responsibilities:

1. Insurance Verification:
• Coordinate with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to verify coverage and eligibility.
• Obtain and update insurance authorization for medical procedures, treatments, and referrals.
• Communicate with insurance carriers to resolve issues related to coverage, denials, and appeals.

2. Patient Care and Support:
• Greet and assist patients in person, over the phone, or through electronic communication channels.
• Schedule appointments, surgeries, and diagnostic tests, ensuring accurate coordination and timely execution.
• Provide information to patients regarding their medical bills, insurance coverage, and financial assistance options.
• Assist with patient registration, including collecting personal and insurance information, and maintaining confidentiality.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure efficient and effective patient care delivery.

3. Financial Management:
• Educate patients on their financial responsibilities, including copayments, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses.
• Collect and process payments from patients, accurately record transactions, and provide receipts.
• Assist patients with setting up payment plans, applying for financial assistance, or navigating medical assistance programs.

4. Administrative Support:
• Maintain electronic records, ensuring organization, accuracy, and confidentiality.
• Prepare and distribute invoices, statements, and financial reports to patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
• Respond to inquiries, resolve complaints, and address patient concerns in a professional and empathetic manner.
• Assist with general office tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.

Requirements:
• Has a track record of talking to patients over the phone for multiple hours.
• College diploma of medical degree or equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration or medical billing is a plus.
• Proven experience in insurance verification, or a related field.
• Familiarity with medical coding systems
• Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance procedures, and healthcare regulations “HIPAA”
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and insurance companies.
• Proficiency in using computers, electronic health record systems, and common office software (MS Office, Excel).
