Job Title: Cost/Inventory Accountant
Location: Remote
Work Shift: PST time
Working Hours: 40hrs/week (Full-time)


JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost/Inventory Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing our inventory levels and costing, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and implementing effective cost control measures. The Cost/Inventory Accountant will play a crucial role in monitoring and analyzing inventory transactions, collaborating with various departments to improve efficiency, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.


Key Responsibilities:
-Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring accuracy and minimizing discrepancies.
-Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to optimize stock levels and reduce holding costs.
-Conduct regular physical inventory counts, monitor cycle counts and reconcile variances.
-Analyze production costs and evaluate cost drivers to identify areas for improvement.
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather cost-related data and validate cost assumptions.
-Prepare cost reports and variance analyses to support management decision-making.
-Prepare and analyze financial statements related to inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS).
-Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
-Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
-Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts related to inventory and production costs.
-Provide input on cost assumptions and contribute to the budgeting process.
-Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings in inventory management.
-Collaborate with operational teams to streamline inventory-related processes.
-Support internal and external audit processes related to inventory and cost accounting.
-Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and assist in audit inquiries.


Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
-A Certified Public Accountant is required
-Has extensive 5 years of experience in Cost Accounting and Inventory Management (mid-senior level).
-Preferably has experience working in the Agricultural and Manufacturing Industry
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
-Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
-Knowledge of GAAP and IFRS accounting principles.
