JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly driven and self-motivated Communications Specialist who will be responsible for building high-quality content that drives brand recognition.

The Communications Specialist will collaborate with our US-based teams to be an integral part of developing content and media campaigns to share Study’s products, services, and brand.

This is a full-time contract position. You will be expected to work during Upgrade to see actual info's Pacific Time business hours Monday - Friday. Additionally, you will use your own computer and have reliable access to high-speed internet.

What You’ll Do:
• Create content for press releases, position statements, internal communications, award nominations, and presentations
• Coordinate and produce public relations activities by pitching, placing, monitoring, and tracking media coverage
• Work cross-functionally with our content, growth, and ed. licensing teams to develop top-performing, link building content
• Cultivate media relationships, creatively leverage social media channels, and differentiate target audiences to achieve company goals
• Manage company-wide organic social media channels and content to increase engagement and produce messaging, videos, and testimonials
• Build and maintain relationships with journalists and thought leaders in education or education technology to drive industry awareness
• Monitor, analyze, and research industry trends

What You’ll Bring to the Role:
• 3-5 years of experience in social media and communications
• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field preferred
• Exceptional English writing and editing skills for both internal and external communications
• Flexibility working cross-functionally with a wide variety of stakeholders, including marketing, growth, and product teams, executive leadership, and creative agencies
• Strong track record designing and promoting successful public relations campaigns at both a national and international level
• Excellent relationship building skills with both local and international business and industry media outlets
• Outstanding critical thinking, research, and analytical skills, identifying topics of interest with a clear point of view
• Strong knowledge of PR management systems (Sprout Social, Muck Rack, etc.), data dashboards, and social media platforms (TikTok, YouTube, X, Instagram, etc.)
• Proficiency in Canva, PowerPoint, and Excel preferred
• Experience managing existing relationships with education/EdTech journalists is a huge plus
