JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Children's Book Editor to join our publishing team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the minds of young readers through a diverse range of books, including fact books, activity books, educational materials, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

* Editing and Proofreading: Ensure that all manuscripts are free of errors, adhere to our company's style guide, and are age-appropriate in language and content.
* Content Development: Collaborate with authors to develop engaging, educational, and entertaining content for children.
* Project Management: Manage multiple book projects simultaneously, ensuring they are completed on time.
* Collaboration with Illustrators: Work closely with illustrators to ensure that visuals complement and enhance the text.
* Quality Control: Uphold high standards of quality for all published materials, ensuring they are both informative and enjoyable for young readers.
* Content Editing and Enhancement: Review and refine manuscripts for clarity, engagement, and age-appropriateness. Provide constructive feedback to authors and collaborate on content improvement.
* Plagiarism and AI Content Detection: Employ tools and techniques to ensure originality of content, checking for any instances of plagiarism or AI-generated material.
* Fact-Checking: Verify the accuracy of information presented in factual and educational books to maintain credibility and educational value.
* Market Research & Content Improvement: Stay updated on current trends in children's literature to ensure our publications remain relevant and appealing, staying abreast of current trends and innovations in children's literature.


Qualifications:

A degree in English, Journalism, Education, or a related field.
Prior experience in editing, particularly in children's literature, is preferred but not required.
Excellent command of the English language, including grammar and punctuation.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
A passion for children's literature and education.
