JOB OVERVIEW

IMPORTANT! This role requires full-time hours from 11 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Manila time, Monday night to Saturday morning (or 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. M-F Vancouver time). Do NOT apply if you cannot work these hours.

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support the President and CEO of a woman and visible-minority-owned healthcare provider located in the Vancouver, Canada region. The Bookkeeper will play a critical role in managing our day-to-day financial records, including transactions related to our multiple facilities. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in accounting practices, excellent attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This position requires someone who can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and maintain confidentiality regarding the organization's financial and operational information.

Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers in compliance with the applicable legal requirements of British Columbia, Canada. (We will train)
• Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and prepare financial reports for senior management.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts and report variances.
• Prepare and submit quarterly and annual tax filings and other regulatory requirements.
• Manage payroll processing and ensure accurate deductions and records.
• Coordinate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
• Oversee financial transactions and cash management for all facilities to ensure adequate cash flow.
• Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.

Requirements:
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Proven bookkeeping experience, preferably within the healthcare sector.
• Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• High level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
• Attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
