JOB OVERVIEW

Job Title: Staff Accountant/Administrator
Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced accountant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our month-end financial reporting processes, as well as handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, and administrative tasks. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities:
• Conduct month-end closing activities, including but not limited to:
o Reconciling general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
o Preparing journal entries and adjusting entries as necessary.
o Reviewing and analyzing financial statements for discrepancies and inconsistencies.
o Posting accruals, deferrals, and other adjusting entries.
o Verifying the accuracy of trial balances.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and management, to ensure proper accounting treatment and reporting of financial transactions.

• Prepare financial reports and schedules for month-end and year-end close processes.

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and company policies.

• Participate in financial audits and provide support to auditors as needed.

• Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the month-end close process.

• Maintain documentation and procedures related to month-end close processes to ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.

• Handle AP/AR functions, including:
o Processing vendor invoices and employee expense reports.
o Reconciling accounts payable transactions.
o Generating and sending customer invoices.
o Monitoring accounts receivable aging and following up on overdue accounts.
• Perform administrative tasks such as needed such as creating proposals and engagement letters to new clients.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent certification preferred.
• Proven experience in accounting, with specific experience in month-end close processes.
• Willingness to take on administrative tasks with strong attention to detail and organization.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently under tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in financial data analysis and reporting.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
