JOB OVERVIEW

A successful Controller at Hadley Designs will be the driving force to planning, directing and building an internal financial process. They will lead the development of our financial tracking and offboard our current external accounting partner. The Controller is responsible for dUpgrade to see actual info and implementing a financial tracking system (ie Xero, Quickbooks). They are also responsible for leading a monthly financial review with the Executive Leadership Team and providing a financial summary based on predetermined metrics.

The Controller is the financial guide for the company, this person will be very hands on in all departments to help identify and improve the company's EBITDA. As an Accounting Controller for Hadley Designs, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the company's financial accounting and reporting processes. You will be tasked with ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial data, as well as developing and implementing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVES: 20% BIG ROCKS
1. Accounting - Monthly close & Year End Close, AR/AP, ERP, Audit

Completing the following reports (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement, Accounts Receivable Aging Report, Accounts Payable Aging Report, Inventory Report, Sales Report: This report shows the company's profit by product category, Subscription Monitoring, Team Cost Monitoring Grouped By Department, Financial Accuaracy)

2. FP&A - Budgeting, Forecasting, Cash management, and reporting

Develop Annual Budget and Financial Forecast

Annual financial metric tracking 100% complete each month

REGULAR WORK ACTIVITIES:
- Creating a repository of all receipts & invoices
- File/Pay sales tax each month
- Department specific SOP development
- Collaborate with the supply chain team to ensure accurate inventory quantities
- Ensure that financial statements are accurate and free from errors by conducting regular audits and reviews of financial data.
- Identify and reconcil invoice price discrepancies
- Own the management of the Cost of Goods Sold
- Improve visibility into company expenses to identify and drive cost savings opportunities
- Minimize/Eliminate rogue spending and unnecessary spend
- Prepare monthly financials for executive leadership
- Participate in strategic analysis and modeling for senior leadership
- Inventory reconciliation between accounting software and the supply chain team
- Process payroll & reimbursements
- Responsible for maintaining Amazon reports & data accuracy
- Identify SKU level profitabilityAudit
- Maintain financial system: Ensure that the company's financial systems and processes are efficient and effective, and make recommendations for improvements as needed.

KEY SKILLS:
- Ability to create detailed annual budgets
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to use experience to analyze data to drive root cause elimination and process improvement

Requirements
- 5+ years of accounting experience, 2+ as a Controller
- Deep understanding of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel Knowledge
- Xero and/or QuickBooks experience is highly preferred
- ECommerce experience preferred (Amazon)
