JOB OVERVIEW

Please reply within OnlineJobs as I will probably not see your email.

Advance Marketing Group (Upgrade to see actual info) is a small Agency in Lethbridge, Alberta (Canada). We have been in business since 2011 and have around 15 people in our company. My name is Blaine Thompson – nice to meet you.

We are seeking a WordPress/Woocommerce Developer responsible for both back-end and front-end development, including creating WordPress themes and plugins. This position requires a combination of programming skills (namely PHP, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript) and aesthetics (understanding element arrangements on the screen, color and font choices, and so on). The candidate should have a strong understanding of industry trends and content management systems. Experience with responsive and adaptive design is strongly preferred. Also, an understanding of the entire web development process, including design, development, and deployment is preferred.

Skills Required:

Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
Most have excellent skills in Elementor
Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
Comfortable working with debugging and troubleshooting WordPress issues.
Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers.
Ability to convert comprehensive layout, AdobeXD, and Figma wireframes, into working HTML pages
Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
Strong understanding of PHP back-end development
Strong English communication skills to communicate with the AMG team and clients.
Strong Server configuration ability.

Responsibilities Required:

Designing and implementing new features and functionality
Establishing and guiding the website’s architecture
Ensuring high performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the CMS
Helping formulate an effective, responsive design using Elementor and turning it into a working theme and or plugin.
Attend discovery and development meetings with the AMG team and clients.
Troubleshooting WordPress code errors and Upgrade to see actual infomissioning new development sites on our server
Taking new sites live after development

Here are some other things I’m looking for in an ideal candidate:

-INTEGRATIONS: sometimes email software like MailChimp, GHL, or API systems needs to be connected to the WordPress custom development.

-SPEAK UP! I know one of the difficulties is just speaking up if there’s a problem. If there’s a task you’re not sure how to do - please raise a hand right away so I can help!

-Codewords: please put the word “taco” in the subject line or first line of your application. This is to weed out candidates who haven’t read this ad, or who just skimmed the Upgrade to see actual infoually, about 50% of the people who apply will fail to do this, so if you’re reading this you’re already in the top 50% of candidates ???? ????

-ATTENTION TO DETAIL: Detail is very important in making sure all custom code is tested thoroughly and free of errors

-ONGOING EDUCATION: The world of Web Development is constantly moving forward, and being able to keep on top of the trends is important - so being able to adapt to different software and learn them is vital.

-COMMUNICATION: we communicate over slack and ClickUp. There will be weekly check-ins and regular daily communication. You would be responsible for checking in with the tasks you’re working on each day, and recording clearly what you did with each hour you worked.

-DEDICATED: it's very important to me that you are just working for us. Does it work for you to be dedicated here? It's fine if you want to start your own projects or products, we can offer you as many hours as you would like here, even above 40 hours per week if you are able, as long as that time is used productively for our clients.

At the end of the day, what I really want is someone who will take our client’s website development to the next level. We want someone who is forward-thinking and proactive.

You would be responsible for somewhere between 3-10 accounts at a time. This job is anywhere from 15-40 hours per week.

Please send over examples of other work you’ve done in WordPress, and Woocommerce CMS Development, we’re very interested in that. Looking forward to hearing from you!
