JOB OVERVIEW

The main purpose of this position is to manage, solicit, assist and maintain our established customer base within a geographical area. This includes requests for loads, occasional assigning of loads, and all customer service functions needed to ensure customer satisfaction, high production levels, on-time delivery, and minimal deadhead. Receive and manage customer load requests via telephone, e-mail, fax machine, and E.D.I, complete dispatch cards for input, and monitor changes in load status Professionally solicit loads from customers (call lists) within regions to effectively utilize fleet, minimize deadhead, and get drivers home Manage load bookings for the area with awareness of commitments and capacity.

Answer and process messages from drivers.
Monitor Assigned, Pre-Assigned, Committed, and Late load Upgrade to see actual infothorize Lumper pay, emergency home time, route drivers to terminals for safety issues, plan swaps & splits as needed.
Answer telephone calls from drivers regarding home-time, swap/splits, routing issues.
Answer telephone calls from customers.
Administer the assigning of trucks to loads in the dedicated planning grids.
Troubleshoot problems that drivers have such as late loads, load assignment, routing, permits, lumpers, advances, finding empty trailers, and overweight problems.
Perform various duties as needed, i.e., copying, calling customers for directions and late loads, retrieving directions from the internet, etc.
Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
