We’re looking for a full-time PHP/WordPress Developer to join our growing team.

As a PHP/WordPress Developer, you will be part of a team of engineers working across a number of enterprise-level applications. You have strong but flexible opinions, possess great written and spoken communication skills, are an excellent collaborator and focused on being part of a team rather than working in silo. You are open to providing and giving feedback, and have a continuous improvement mindset. You know how to actively contribute value to the product, instead of focusing on your tickets. You proactively provide suggestions, raise concerns and resolve issues.

We are a digital strategy and innovation agency helping midsize and enterprise organisations think and act like tech startups.

We were born in 2018 and have grown rapidly to a team of 25, designing and building web and mobile apps. On top of client projects, we also build our own apps, for example, our fintech platform Upgrade to see actual info/.

***** WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR... *****
> 4+ years experience as a PHP developer
> Knowledge of front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript
> Experience building REST APIs
> Experience working with PHP frameworks (e.g. Laravel, Symfony)
> Experience in relational SQL database use and design
> Experience with Git / GitHub (or equivalent version control system)
> Experience building themes or plugins for WordPress
> Effective verbal and written communication skills in both technical and non-technical subjects

***** NICE-TO-HAVES *****
> Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a similar field
> Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as Vue, React, and Node
> An eye for good UX
> E2E & Unit testing
> Experience working with CI/CD, deployment and monitoring
> Amazon Web Services (AWS) experience
> Agile software development

***** ABOUT THE ROLE *****
> Creating the website architecture
> Designing and managing the website back-end including database and server integration
> Generating WordPress themes and plugins
> Conducting website performance tests
> Troubleshooting content issues
> Monitoring the performance of the live website or web app

As part of the hiring process, there will be the following steps:

3. Once you pass our background check and written test, you will be invited to an initial video interview with our Operations Manager
4. You will then be invited to a technical interview with our Head of Engineering
5. And later undergo a pair programming session (If you are not interested in this step, please do not apply for the role.)
6. A final interview with our CEO(s)
