Solar Energy System Designer and Estimator

The Solar Energy System Designer and Estimator is responsible for:
1. Designing solar energy systems for the residential, off-grid and commercial markets
2. Creating quotes and estimates using the Company's ERP system, NetSuite
3. Providing ongoing design and technical support to the sales team to ensure all designs are of highest quality

The Solar Energy System Designer and Estimator will work closely with the sales team to help theUpgrade to see actual infoet and exceed their sales targets, through providing best in class designs and estimates, and ensuring they are provided with the highest level of service and support.

SKILLS / COMPETENCIES / VALUES:
- Strong capability in designing and estimating solar energy systems
- Strong knowledge and competence in electrical engineering and solar energy
- Proven experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook and Excel
- Proven experience with CRM / ERP systems, with NetSuite experience being preferred
- Demonstrated ability to collect, analyse and present information in a meaningful manner
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to problem solve
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- System design in Helioscope / other solar design software, including new build plans through the use of Sketch Up or CAD based software
- Completion of quotes and estimates, using the Company's ERP system, NetSuite
- Specification of electrical components within designs, ensuring all electrical configurations are correct for the systems designed
- Prepare electrical designs as necessary, including single line diagrams, grid protection schematics and electrical equipment layouts
- Assistance in the preparation and development of sales proposals based on designs and estimates
- Confirmation of Bill of Materials for each project, ensuring this matches system design
- Ensure the accuracy of all technical documentation provided to internal and external stakeholders
- Confirm final designs for each project, providing as part of project pack to project team
- Ensure all information is ready (in an electronic folder) available to the project team for relevant projects, including System Design, Bill of Materials, Picking List etc
