IT Delivery manager

Location: Remote
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 39.5 hours per week, mainly UK hours
Salary: Dependant on experience


What is the role?

As an IT Delivery Manager you’ll help guide one or more of the development teams within the Technology & Change department. These teams are highly skilled, multi-disciplinary and focused on delivering key outcomes relating to both BAU operations and business change. You will be adept at delivering complex digital products, able to identify issues, be determined to remove blockers, and able to work at all levels of detail when required.

The Technology and Change function works throughout the business and your stakeholders will range from sales, call centre, marketing, warehouse operations, finance etc. You will report into the Head of Business Solutions, within the Technology and Change team.

What will be your responsibilities?

• Ensure the regular delivery of projects and products in accordance with Agile methodologies
• Creating a delivery focused and high performing environment, through leading by example and a commitment to continuous improvement
• Responsible for the delivery of development timeboxes, managing the workload of one or more teams of Developers and Testers.
• Escalating blockers that cannot be controlled by the development team or are at risk of being delayed
• Co-ordinate UAT processes with all stakeholders
• Schedule any deployments with the development team and communicate to all stakeholders
• Actively participate in Delivery Manager community, sharing and re-applying skills and knowledge, and bringing best practices into the business
• Upholding morale and team performance in challenging circumstances.

Who are we looking for?

• Someone with great organisation skills.
• An ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
• Experience with change management is preferred
• We sometimes use agile business processes so experience with this concept would be an advantage
• A strong technical background will make it easier for you to converse with software developers
• Building strong relationships and stakeholder management is essential
• Previous experience working as a project/delivery manager in an IT environment is preferred
• Having a curious nature will help you query and question the current process

Experience with the Atlassian suite of products is preferred but not essential, and an understanding of project management principles (such as Prince2, Kanban, agile, scrum) is preferred
