JOB OVERVIEW

Our rapidly growing company is seeking an experienced, eager, and highly motivated senior accountant to grow with our firm. The ideal candidate has a roll-your-sleeves-up mentality and is comfortable completing simpler tasks such as data entry and remote check deposits, on an as-needed basis, as well as more strategic tasks such as analyzing financial statements. Our firm currently manages about 1.5 million square feet of multi-family, retail, industrial, and office assets in Connecticut.

Responsibilities:

Manage entire accounting operations (preferably with real estate experience)
Preparing monthly financial reporting packages for property owners and property management business owners
Monitoring cash balances and collections
Help managing payroll
Perform/review monthly bank reconciliations (majority of reconciliations are handled by staff bookkeeper)
Reviewing other financial reports on a monthly basis including AR and AP aging reports and reconciliation of tenant security deposits
Assign tasks to and manage bookkeeper
Assist in financial analysis, budgeting, new business pricing, and business development


Qualifications:

CPA qualified with 3-5 years of relevant work experience
Experience and knowledge of real estate accounting are strongly preferred
Experience with QuickBooks Online and Buildium or similar real estate property management software preferred
Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (including vlookups, sumifs, etc. and professional formatting)
Fast and efficient use of Microsoft Office suite
Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to problem-solve independently
