ACCOUNTING TEAM LEADER (CPA)

Report directly to the CFO and manage a team of staff accountants under the CFO's direction > Evolve to reporting to the controller by year end.

Will use productivity software - FlowQast - All accounting employees will use to manage workload, collaboration and deadlines.

Requirements:
• Strong communication and management skills
• CPA designation
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Solid understanding of IFRS and GAAP
• Expertise with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains (2015) accounting application
• Ability to meet multiple demands in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Very proficient with Microsoft Excel
• VBA, power query or similar advanced excel skills an asset
• Experience with QuickBooks
• Strong problem-solving skills coupled with significant experience working with accounting and reporting systems

Day-to-day:
As a team leader, you'll support the controllers. You'll be leading and mentoring accounting teams on day-to-day accounting tasks by reviewing their working papers and journal entries
• Reviewing accounting staff working papers for accuracy
• Assisting with month-end processing and reporting
• Evaluating accounting processes and implement efficiencies
• Meets regularly with management and reports bottlenecks and team progress
• Assists with documentation of process and workflows
• Review, maintain & implement internal control recommendations
• Analytical analysis and review of financial data for accuracy
• Delegates duties to staff and ensure teaUpgrade to see actual infoets deadlines
• Evaluate staff output and provide mentoring and training
• Other duties as assigned.
