JOB OVERVIEW

Hi there!

Zero Industries is looking for a creative and versatile Technical Writer (Engineering Researcher with Hazardous Area specialisation) to join our growing team as a Technical Writer

In this role, you’ll be the technical writer for several business initiatives and get to work on a broad range of content including white-papers, external marketing content, technical reviews, internal training material, external course content and more.

You’ll be involved in these projects from the very start and have the chance to shape strategy and messaging, working closely with cross-functional partners in marketing programs, events, brand, and product marketing.
If you’re interested in driving your content career at a start-up engineering firm, read on...

About you

You're an excellent writer. Your writing is clear, concise, and nearly site-ready—not just in terms of grammar and mechanics, but also in tone and style. You're creative and versatile, able to comfortably shift between crafting short and snappy copy and producing longer campaign assets.

You're a content generalist. You have at least 5+ years of experience writing a wide variety of B2B content for online audiences.
You enjoy figuring out what content will resonate with the target audience and then writing to that goal.

You think strategically about content. Way before you begin writing, you collaborate with project leads on the ideation, direction, and messaging of the campaign. You’re excited to have a voice in setting the vision for the campaign, then create content that maps back to our goals.

You want to tell stories that get results. You have a knack for shifting your tone and perspective depending on your target audience. You jump in to interview stakeholders—whether it's a customer with an innovative use case, a partner who wants to illustrate the power of Zero Industries to their users, or a marketing team lead who wants to launch a new campaign—and use that information to write compelling, conversion-focused copy.

You're a team player. You realise that the work you do contributes to the company's goals and mission of making automation work for everyone. You can work and collaborate with different departments and external Upgrade to see actual info draft is sacred. You rewrite subject lines until they don't resemble their former selves, obsessively check for unnecessary words, and welcome editing feedback.

Learning brings satisfaction. When you approach a new subject, you don't let your lack of knowledge stand in the way—even if it requires dozens of Google searches.

Efficiency is important. At Zero Industries, the work you do will have a disproportionate impact on the business. You set up systems and processes that let you increase your impact to be larger than yourself as an individual contributor.

In this role, you'll get experience with a little bit of everything. That said, here are some things you'll do:
- Provide Technical Engineering content that aligns with the requirements of IECEx and IEC 60079 series of standards specifically
- Write content in a variety of formats, such as training manuals, research white papers, technical reports, external course creation, video scripts (branded and educational), social copy, and more.

- Write and optimise email nurture campaigns to support various customer journeys.
- Consult with product marketing on feature messaging, naming, and stylisation.
- Contribute to launch assets, including promotional materials, messaging, launch strategy, course creation and more.
- Act as the content liaison for marketing events, contributing to strategy and fully owning all event and promotional copy.
