Specific Job Description:
Our ecommerce websites run on the BigCommerce platform. We are looking for an outstanding Web Developer to be responsible for the coding, innovative design, and layout of our website. Web developer responsibilities include building our website from concept all the way to completion from the bottom up, fashioning everything from the home page to site layout and function. As our dedicated web developer, you will need to have proficiency in HTML, CSS, and Java language to edit core and theme files. Additionally, you will be tasked with monitoring the sites to optimize layouts and high-performance merchandising of categories and products to ensure the highest converting consumer experience. Graphics and creative abilities come into play for this aspect of the job.

Responsibilities:
• Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices
• Create website layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS practices
• Integrate data from various back-end services and databases
• Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
• Create and maintain software documentation
• Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling our site
• Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities
• Use JavaScript to make the website more interactive and attractive
• Cooperate with web designers to match visual design intent

This is a work-from-home opportunity! Our workforce consists of on-site employees in the USA and 20+ remote employees in the Philippines who have been working in this arrangement for 3 years now. This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week. Your regular weekly schedule will be Monday to Friday 09:00 AM-6:00 PM EST. You will need a steadfast computer with a reliable and consistent high-speed internet connection – minimum 10 MBPS. You will need to ensure that you have a designated workspace that will allow you to focus and work uninterruptedly.

Job requirements:
• This is a graveyard shift, and you must possess a minimum of 6 months recent experience in a graveyard shift capacity
• Minimum 4 years of experience in web development including coding, website administration, and creative design implementation and strategy.
• Top-notch programming skills and in-depth knowledge of modern HTML/CSS
• Familiarity with JavaScript/jQuery programming language

Education:
BS in computer science or related field
