We are looking for a motivated and hardworking Assistant Accountant to play an integral role in Finance in a QSR company with an exciting growth strategy. You will be responsible for recording the day-to-day financial transactions with Mad Mex’s various bank accounts. This role will be ideally suited to someone with proven experience with bank reconciliations and enjoys variety in tasks and the challenge of making this role their own.

About the role

· Record the day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process
· Monitor all banking activities to detect irregularities
· Weekly completion of bank reconciliations
· Post weekly sales journals
· Provide documentation for the purpose of supporting all financial transactions
· Invoice processing and preparation of bills, customer statements, and bank deposits
· Handle various finance admin such as maintenance of records/files, completion of application forms, and setting up of the
new bank accounts, customer & vendor card
· Assist with month-end procedures
· Assist Auditors - Internal & External- with the documentation required for them to do their job satisfactorily
· Ad hoc projects as designated by CFO and Finance Manager that will assist the improvement of Finance processes and
provide the business with insights and actionable analysis
· Develop relationships and effective implementation of processes to facilitate effective information flow with Store managers
and Support Office staff.

To be successful in this role, you should have

· A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant course
· At least 2 years exposure in handling bank reconciliations
· Extensive experience in Bank Reconciliation and Accounts Receivable
· Experience in handling retail industry is ideal
· High degree of English proficiency (verbal and written)
· Proficient with Microsoft Applications such as MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
· Knowledge of generally accepted accounting/booking principles and procedure
· Working knowledge of Navision accounting system is ideal
· Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
· Self-motivated and proactive
