Role Overview: FoodStyles is looking for a freelance, remote and highly motivated Data Scraper

About the Company: FoodStyles is a new restaurant app which is set to completely change the way you search for food and restaurants in London - We gather information about all of the dishes in all of the restaurants in all of London into one big menu. We then filter that big menu based on your preferences, so that you only see the dishes that are relevant to you.

By using proprietary frameworks developed together with experienced chefs, we are able to categorise all of the dish information and make it available through the FoodStyles app, organised by dish type, cuisine type, course type, ingredients & diets.
Foodstyles are set for public launch in London in September 2019, with US and Europe following.

The Role: You will be responsible for Data Scraping including but not limited to:
Working in a cross functional development team, collaborating with designers, product managers and developers
Identify the structure of menu websites
Use special scraping tool to gather data from the venue’s website
Creating documentation for the chapter and organisation
Identify, analyse, document and track defects

Key Skills & Experience Required:
Excellent analytical, communication and language skills
Ability to execute repetitive tasks
Experience in understanding HTML code, JSON structure
Experience in analysing website structure
Problem solver, able to get the right data when the tool doesn’t work on certain websites
Evident good technical understanding and can pick up new tools quickly
Superior time management
Be a team player with the confidence to take the lead and guide other co-workers when necessary (ie: content development, creation and editing of content, and online reputation management)

Desirable Experience:
Software testing experience
Experience with computer programming (i.e.: HTML, Python, Java, etc.)
