JOB OVERVIEW

We are a small, busy New Zealand based web design company.

We are looking for an Intermediate level WordPress developer required to be the first point of customer contact for customer support requests. Support requests almost always come in via email or Freshdesk ticket, and maybe a couple of times per month via phone (we will use a skype phone number). The developer will be responsible for resolving the support request if it is within their skillset or allocating it to a designer or senior developer of it is not something they can do. They will be responsible for dealing with the client and communicating with them. Excellent English communication skills and the ability to deal with non-technical people (our clients) is essential.

They will also be involved in managing some projects (could be new builds or updates to existing sites). We have detailed, documented processes and job templates for building new sites so managing the project is simple - it just requires some communication between the designer and client and checking tasks are completed an during some initiative to keep the project moving ahead

Must have excellent English communication skills and a thorough understanding of WordPress. Must be a problem solver. Diagnosing and fixing faults will be a big part of this job. Familiarity with hosting, SSL certificates email setup etc is an advantage. Some design skills would be a bonus but not crucial as we have a very good designer.

We have detailed documentation on our company processes, such as setting up hosting accounts, email setup etc. Although we still require you to use initiative and when you come across a problem, be able to come up with possible solutions to fix.

Daily activities:
Responding to support requests, assisting clients with email setup (sometimes using teamviewer is required) Using Avaza (our project management software) to allocate tasks and communicate with the rest of the team.

Diagnosing wordpress faults, installing and configuring plugins, some plugin Upgrade to see actual infotup web hosting accounts, installing SSL certificates. Gathering additional information from clients that are required to complete projects.


Working hours:
Availability during NZ business hours is required (ideally start 9am-10am NZ time). We see this as being a full time role, but would consider part time for the right candidate if this works better for them and they have some flexibility to work overtime if required from time to time.
