Cleaner.Earth is an environmental protection initiative involving young people around the world
in hands-on solutions to solve the most pressing problems of our planet. We are developing,
funding and implementing solutions to environmental and developmental issues, predominantly
in developing Upgrade to see actual info this context, Cleaner.Earth is setting up a blog to give young “amateur citizen journalists” the
opportunity to report from their neighbourhood, town, city, region, or country about climate
change, plastics pollution, recycling activities. But it’s mainly about people, about an outlook
into the future, and about solutions.
We are looking for talents from the Philippines, reporting from their own life and about their environment once every other week with an article on Cleaner.Earth’s web page.
We are explicitly looking for young talents, not professional journalists. We are looking for your
everyday stories, about people, the bad things and the good things, not only problems, but maybe
also solutions for the environment.
Cleaner.Earth is a social enterprise, and strongly supports equal opportunities for people of all
genders, colours of skin, ranges of physical or mental ability, beauty, body height etc. Everybody
with a talent for blogging should feel invited to send in their story.
Our bloggers should
have decent command, but not necessarily perfect in written and spoken English,
be interested in environment, especially climate change, ocean pollution, recycling,
have an eye for stories, a talent for story-telling, and a sentiment for the people involved,
ideally have first experiences in publishing on their own blog or articles in a college maga-
zine etc.
We are asking for an application with a two to three paragraph description of yourself, your inter-
ests in environmental issues and why you want to write for Cleaner.Earth. To apply, please also
provide an example article, between 300 and 600 words, including two to three photos with cap-
tions. The photos should be in jpg format and sent separately.
The article should be the sole work of the author and should not have been published elsewhere
before. The photos should be taken by the author.
Regarding the article and the photos, Cleaner.Earth respects the author’s copyright but requires a
non-exclusive right to use the author’s articles and photographs on Cleaner.Earth’s web site
(Upgrade to see actual info), either wholly or in part, as well as on any other social media channel (Face-
book, Twitter, Instagram etc.) which Cleaner.Earth chooses to use. You will be free to post the
same article in media of your choice, two weeks after posted by Cleaner.Earth, under the condi-
tion that you reference the posting as “First published on Cleaner.Earth on (date)” and include
the link to your article on Cleaner.Earth.

Cleaner.Earth will select one author from each country. The selected author from each country
will be offered a one-year contract with Cleaner.Earth, to provide similar bi-weekly article (i.e.
an article every other week) to our web page.
Cleaner.Earth will pay a fee of 10 US$ per 300 to 600 words article including two to three photos. Payment will take place through PayPal, mobile phone credit (mobile cash) or any other
means convenient to the author and feasible for Cleaner.Earth.
