JOB OVERVIEW

Here’s the situation:
We’re a growing New Zealand Search Engine Marketing company that has a portfolio of NZ based ecommerce websites that need the following:
? A complete site redesign using Photoshop
? Product images and descriptions to be uploaded to the site
? Written content to be created (English only) for the Home, About Us, FAQ’s and other pages.
? Fix any teething issues and glitches with the site by identifying potential problems and liaising with our Web Developer to remedy.
? Continual improvement from a conversion and online marketing perspective, modifying the site to maximise sales and reduce cart abandonment, or visitors leaving the website.

In time, this role will expand so you directly manage our Graphic Designer, Content Writer, and Web Developer to take a website from a dormant, non functioning site to a fully functional, trustworthy and highly converting site that generates sales.

The ideal person we’re looking for can:
? Can create highly converting ecommerce website designs using Photoshop
? Is highly competent with either the Joomla! or Wordpress content management systems
? Upload the product descriptions, prices and photo’s to the websites
? Write English copy for the website information and product pages
? Understand Internet marketing and the conversion process to maximise online product sales
? Upload content, then format the content and images of a page to maximise the number of enquiries and sales
? Communicate with the New Zealand General Manager (English only) via email about website modifications, design preferences and new work on a daily basis


Here’s an example of what you’ll be doing:
The NZ General Manager (GM) will send you an email/talk via skype about a website that needs to be improved. The GM will give you a design brief for you to follow. Within a few days the Photoshop mock-up will be ready. The GM will then critique the design, get your feedback, then ask for the final copy to be sent via email.

The design will then be uploaded to the website via our team in China. Once the new design is uploaded, you will indentify the pages that need new content and product pages that need to be uploaded with descriptions, pictures and prices.

You will test the website for glictches and potential malfunctions by going through the online ordering process. You will be able to identify errors and liaise with our Web Developer to fix these errors.

Once the new website is ready, you will then monitor the incoming enquiries and sales, looking for ways to improve the website’s sales revenue. You will be proactive about monitoring and improving the websites on a weekly basis.

Once the site is fully functional, you will liaise with the GM on the next website, repeating the process.

This is a self governing role, where you will be largely responsible for managing your own workload. Minimal instruction and training will be given by the GM as it is expected that you have this knowledge and experience already.
