E-commerce Financial Controller

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced E-commerce Financial Controller to oversee our financial operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting, expertise in QuickBooks Online, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and a comprehensive understanding of U.S. GAAP principles. This proactive individual will manage our financial strategy and ensure effective management of company finances.

Location: Remote
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 4 hours a day
Salary: $1500-$2,000 USD/month
Contract Type: Independent Contractor

Responsibilities:
> Financial Reporting and Analysis
* Develop and maintain regular financial reports (cashflow statement, Profit and Loss, and balance sheet) on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.
* Analyze financial data to identify trends, forecast future performance, and provide actionable insights to improve profitability.
* Identify key metrics to track to determine the health of the business
* Creation of a unified dashboard where all important metrics can be easily seen by the team.

> Cost Management and Optimization
* Monitor all operational costs related to managing Amazon and Shopify stores, including software subscription fees, marketing expenses, shipping costs, and product procurement.
* Identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
* Track and reconcile inventory costs
* Manage sales tax when applicable

> Revenue and Sales Tracking
* Keep accurate records of all sales transactions across client accounts.
* Analyze sales data to identify high-performing products and categories, seasonal trends, and growth opportunities.

> Cash Flow Management
* Ensure that there is always sufficient cash flow to cover operational needs.
* Manage accounts payable and receivable to optimize cash flow.
* Run a monthly and 13-week cashflow statement

> Client Billing and Financial Service
* Oversee the billing and payroll process for clients and employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Provide financial-related client support, including answering queries related to billing and account statements.

Required Skills:
* Proven experience in financial management, preferably in an e-commerce or tech environment.
* Strong analytical skills and experience with financial software and Excel.
* Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Additional Considerations:
* Familiarity with Amazon Seller Central and Shopify
* Understand e-commerce business models and the specific challenges and opportunities they present.
* Knowledge of automation tools and software that can streamline financial operations.

Requirements:
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
