JOB OVERVIEW

Are you passionate about books, especially dark romance? Do you have a knack for growing social media accounts and a proven track record in book marketing? We are looking for a dynamic and creative Book Marketing & Social Media Assistant to join our team. This role is perfect for someone with experience in marketing for indie or self-published authors.

Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy to grow and engage our audience on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
- Create and edit compelling graphic designs and faceless videos to promote our books and engage our followers.
- Plan, create, and schedule engaging content, including posts, stories, and videos, ensuring a consistent posting schedule.
- Respond to comments, messages, and questions from followers in a timely and professional manner.
- Identify, follow, and engage with potential ARC (Advance Reader Copy) readers on social media. Facilitate their sign-up process to receive and review upcoming books.
- Assist in the organization and management of ARC reader programs, ensuring readers receive copies and are encouraged to leave reviews.
- Collaborate with the author to understand the vision and themes of the books to create aligned marketing content.
- Research and compile a list of retailers, both large chains and independent bookstores, to target for book distribution.
- Reach out to these retailers to understand their wholesale purchasing processes and facilitate the placement of books in stores.
- Monitor and analyze social media metrics to adjust strategies for maximum effectiveness.
- Stay up-to-date with social media trends, tools, and best practices to keep our strategy fresh and effective.
- Identify and join relevant Facebook groups where authors can promote their work. Track and organize promotion days, ensuring posts are made on the correct days to maximize exposure.

Requirements
- Proven experience in book marketing, particularly for indie or self-published authors.
- Proficiency in graphic design, video creation, and editing tools.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, algorithms, and best practices for Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Must be an avid reader and familiar with the dark romance genre.
- Comfortable with dark romance themes and willing to discuss any potential triggers in advance.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Creative, innovative, and a problem-solver.
- Ability to analyze data and adjust strategies accordingly.

Bonus
- Previous experience engaging with ARC readers and facilitating reviews.
- Existing network within the book blogging and reviewing community.
