Job Description:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage financial records and ensure timely execution of accounting tasks for an exciting startup company. This role requires a proactive approach to handling fluctuating workloads and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and teaUpgrade to see actual infombers. This position offers significant opportunities for upward mobility, with the potential for rapid advancement to more responsible roles such as client-facing positions or team leadership based on performance and initiative.

Responsibilities:
Efficiently manage daily accounting tasks including transaction coding, accounts payable and receivable processes, and payroll management.
Ensure accuracy in financial records and adherence to deadlines.
Communicate effectively with teaUpgrade to see actual infombers to handle financial queries.
Work closely with a lead bookkeeper during an initial 1-2 months of training.
Participate in monthly closings and prepare financial reports.
Strong accounting fundamentals with the ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve complex issues.
Conceptual understanding of financial statements and reports (P&L, GL, Balance Sheet).
Identify and correct errors in books, including messy accounts such as AR, unreconciled items in bank reconciliations, and cleanup of books and chart of accounts.
Proficient in Excel; ability to use data to solve problems and drive value.

Requirements:
Strong interest in and experience with coding transactions and managing high-volume transactional work.
Proficiency in QuickBooks; knowledge of Xero and Netsuite is a plus.
Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Must be coachable and adaptable to new challenges and workflows.
Capable of working with multiple clients and maintaining a high standard of quality and productivity.
Ability to manage tight deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Effective time management and ability to juggle multiple tasks.
Independent problem-solving skills, including research and proactivity.

Additional Notes:
The role may occasionally require handling urgent tasks outside of normal hours, including managing tight timelines effectively.
Measured on both the quantity and quality of work, with expectations communicated through performance reviews.
Confidence is key! Be comfortable raising issues, delivering bad news, and asking for help without hesitation.
