Periplous is a professional consulting organization that provides business management advising and executive coaching services to both established and startup companies.

Managing Member Michael Hochberg is a serial entrepreneur and former professor who has founded four silicon photonics companies, each of which was acquired. Most recently, Elenion was acquired by Nokia, where Hochberg served as the CTO of the Optical Subsystems group.

Periplous LLC’s Chief of Staff, Christine Clay, is hiring a full-time virtual business coordinator to assist in the efforts of staying organized with scheduling, purchasing, accounts receivable and business development-related communications.

About the Role
The Virtual Business Coordinator is a highly organized individual who will contribute to the success of Periplous LLC by ensuring that Hochberg and Clay have the resources needed to best serve the Periplous clientele. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the Virtual Business Coordinator will be an independent and highly valued contributor with regular communication and a set meeting schedule with Christine Clay to stay organized and up-to-date.

Duties include but are not limited to.

-Managing Michael Hochberg’s busy calendar by filling requests for meetings with clients, potential clients and industry connections.
-Providing relevant background knowledge before Hochberg goes into a meeting with information about the other meeting attendees and basic agenda items.
-Maintaining a log of Michael Hochberg’s extensive travel including travel dates, locations visited and business purpose
-Maintaining a log of meetings held and follow-up needed
-Coordinating distribution of templated messages to potential clients to increase the Periplous client base
-Basic financial coordination including
-Collecting expense documentation and posting expense documentation to a banking website
-Assigning expense categories to transactions online
-Paying invoices in a timely manner
-Creating and distributing invoices for Periplous clients

The successful candidate will have.

-3+ years of experience supporting executives with calendar and time management
-3+ years of experience communicating with businesses in English to conduct basic transactions such as scheduling meetings and requesting payment for services
-Experience working with teams across multiple time zones. Michael Hochberg travels frequently and is often meeting with people in other time zones. Working hours that align with his travel will occasionally be required in order to accommodate last-minute scheduling requests in a timely manner. Understanding of how to schedule meetings that are optimized for his time zone as well as clients is a key to success.
-Exceptional organizational skills.
-Experience working with the Google Suite of tools including GMail, Google Calendar, Google Docs and Google Sheets.
-Experience working with an online banking system for bill payment and receipt tracking is preferred. Specific training for the Periplous banking system will be provided.
-Additional experience with signature collection tools such as Docusign is a plus.
